About Me

About Me

I’m a young  professional in Washington, DC working for a great non-profit advocacy organization that works on stopping and preventing genocide and mass atrocities around the world. I’m a political and foreign policy junkie. That being said, I know nothing about Latin America, but I can tell you all about Africa (which is a continent not a country, and yes there are two Congos).  I used to find the idea of feminism annoying, until I woke as an adult one day and realized that I was a feminist (and that that wasn’t some horrible thing that meant I had to hate men, burn my bra and throw away any and all traditional notions of femininity). I’m a firm believer in concept of universal human rights and believe the international community should do everything possible to mitigate the effects of violent conflict on civilians.

I’m an East Coast girl now, but I spent the first 21 years of my life living in metro Detroit . I received my B.A. in International Relations from Michigan State University 2009.
